The APCON Monitor is software which facilitates network sharing of common networking equipment without the need to physically rewire and reconfigure individual systems on the network to accommodate these equipments. This software is an add-on that is used with IntellaPatch layer 1 switches. It allows users to move and share monitoring equipment across a network by drag-and-drop via a graphic user interface supported by Windows. The movement can take place remotely and is facilitated via the switches. This software makes equipment distribution more economical as administrators will not need to physically relocate and re-connect devices. The Monitor software supports multiple data rates and media interfaces, fiber optic and copper interfaces as well as conversion between both and single mode and multimode devices are also supported. |

This software solution is quite relevant today. Network administrators that have the task of managing a large networking system will find this software useful. Distributing equipment across the network is facilitated easily thus putting less demands on the administrator. This also means time saved from having to individually wire network clusters but this process will be more centralized. I would recommend businesses with large networks invest in the software as it would solve so many administrative problems. In the future this type of software could be expanded to facilitate sharing and movement of equipment across multiple networks and I would gladly invest in such a system then. |
